Return to Ortigia- Working with the Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine- Part 2!

We were honoured, delighted, ridiculously excited,* insert all the most enthusiastic words here, to be invited back to Ortigia for the epic week that is the Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine- International Certificate Course in Translational Medicine.

To be faculty on this incredible course and have the opportunity to meet and learn from such a diverse group of people, is all a bit wonderful.

Based on the success of last years’ creative activity, we were invited to run this again with this years’ cohort, as well as participating further running communication workshops, and presenting a session from the patient perspective.

The work we do, aligns so well with the ‘hidden curriculum’ learning objectives. Those often intangible yet critical elements that include communication, creativity collaboration and critical thinking.

The group of 30 participaints ( mid-level career TM professionals) from all over the world arrive as strangers. Yet within a few short days, they end up being stuck together with some kind of magic glue that the Eureka Institute never seems to run out of. They become Eurekians. So much care, trust, collaboration, honesty, vulnerability and deep humanness is shared, and everyone goes home not quite the same shape as they arrived.

We can’t wait to go back again in October 2026!
